Award- Winning Father-Daughter Writing Duo Embark on Canadian Adventure

Bryan and Amanda L. Davis set out on a 16,000-kilometer road trip to connect with Canadian readers in September 2012

Orono, ON (July 30, 2012)- Most young adult women couldn’t imagine driving 16, 000 kilometers across five provinces with their dad, but teen author Amanda L. Davis isn’t your typical girl. In partnership with Foundation Distribution Inc. and AMG Publishers, the father-daughter writing duo, Bryan and Amanda L. Davis, will launch their three-week Canadian book tour on September 10, 2012. The bestselling authors will make stops in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia to encourage students and their parents to read, write and be creative. The book tour includes speaking engagements, writing workshops and one-on-one conversations with fans in select Canadian cities.
The two authors have made the decision to take a Canadian road trip in celebration of the great response their titles have received from Canadian readers. Bryan’s past visits to Christian retailer, House of James in Abbotsford, BC have resulted in a bombardment of requests from fans for Bryan and his daughter, Amanda to return to Canada.
Bryan will speak to parents, students and teachers about an author’s journey and what it’s like to be an author. Amanda is looking forward to sharing her publishing journey as a young teen author with aspiring young novelists and will discuss her experience being published as a teenager and overcoming her learning disability. While both authors are looking forward to sharing their experiences, what they are most excited about is being able to spend time one-on-one with their Canadian fans.
As students head back-to-school Bryan and Amanda will be conducting their ever-popular writing workshop in select schools throughout Canada to inspire and equip budding authors. Bryan acted as Amanda’s writing coach, mentor and editor throughout her writing process. The lessons he shared with his daughter will now be imparted onto students and their parents in his writing workshop.
Writing and storytelling has always been a family affair in the Davis household. Bryan began involving his children at a young age in the storytelling and writing process. As the Davis children grew, so did their ideas and they soon began to write their own stories.
Amanda started accompanying her dad to his speaking engagements at age 12, and at age 15, despite battles with dyslexia she was inspired to start her own writing career. Three years later, the teenaged author signed a three-book contract with AMG Publishers. Amanda has followed in her father’s footsteps in writing her fantasy fiction trilogy, The Cantral Chronicles.
After quitting his job to pursue writing full-time, Bryan decided to dedicate his time to writing fantasy fiction and published his first book, Raising Dragons. Twenty novels and hundreds of speaking engagements later, Bryan has won numerous prestigious awards for his work. Among these awards are the 2012 Family Fiction Readers Choice Awards for #1 novel of the year, #1 series of the year, #1 speculative fiction author, #1 young adult fiction author and #2 overall author.
Bryan and Amanda will be tracking their travels and updating their fans on their journey via select social media platforms. While fans will have the opportunity to purchase autographed books from both Bryan and Amanda on-site during their speaking engagements, they are also available at local Christian and online retailers across Canada.
