Earlier this year, we celebrated 5 years of business! It has gone by so quickly but in looking back, we have grown and accomplished so much. As many of you reading this may know, Ellen began Graf-Martin Communications after her former employer, R.G. Mitchell Family Books, suddenly closed its doors in the bottom of the 2008 recession. A lot has happened since then. Fast-forward 5 years later and we’ve moved out of Ellen’s home office and into an office space, hired 5 new employees, hugely expanded our menu of services and diversified our client-base. We have a lot to celebrate and be thankful for.

In celebration of reaching this milestone and to be sure we’re telling our story as best we can, we’ve undergone a brand refresh, ourselves.

GMC Logo CMYK Medium (2)a)      New logo

When we consider a new project, we envision the oak within the acorn, identifying opportunities and potential growth for our clients. We wanted to be sure that our own visual brand continued to reflect this. You’ll see this new, refreshed brand look across all of our communication pieces from here on out.

b)      Website & branding

We’ve worked to refine the way we talk about our work and what we do. We also wanted to be sure that everyone who comes across our website can find what they need and quickly. We love the way it turned out. Take a look around and let us know what you think!

c)       Revised programs

CaptureTwo unique areas of our PR efforts that we’re really proud of are our Resourcing Leaders program (reaching out to key influencers across Canada) and our Nuts About Books (reaching out to faith & product bloggers across Canada) program. We love getting the amazing resources we work with get into the hands of the right people who need to know nutsaboutbooksabout them!

We realized we could do a better job of letting our clients know about the opportunities available to them through these two high-impact, high-value proprietary programs. This spring we also launched brand new websites for each program!

d)      Video

A comment we hear from so many of our clients is, “Oh wow, I didn’t realize how much you really do here” or, “Oh really? I didn’t know you did that!” All of our campaigns are customized to clients’ needs and requests, so often the full scope of our work isn’t obvious at first glance! Our first goal is to make our clients shine!

Our list of services has grown over the past 5 years to meet our clients’ needs and to reflect the changing marketing/communications and publicity landscape. In order to provide you with a clear snapshot of what we do, in a creative way, we decided to create a video to help share our story. Take a look! We’d love to hear your thoughts – what surprised you?

Celebrating Baker Publishing Group

Did you know that Baker Publishing Group was Ellen’s first client back in 2008 when she started the company?

Baker Publishing GroupWe are privileged to continue to work with them today, highlighting their titles here in the Canadian market by securing media placements and by strategic outreach to our blogger network, Nuts About Books, and to our key influencers through our Resourcing Leaders Program.

Earlier this year, Baker celebrated 75 years of business. Growing from a small retail bookstore in 1939 to one of the top three Christian publishers in North America, Baker Book House Company is celebrating their diamond anniversary as a stellar example of a family-owned business.

We truly love working with the Baker team and wish them all the best and continued success in the future!
